DISTANCE EDUCATION POLICY

1. Purpose

The purpose of this policy document is to determine the fundamental principles for the planning, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of distance and blended education activities carried out in the Department of International Trade and Finance, and to ensure that educational processes are conducted within the framework of quality assurance.

2. Scope

This policy encompasses courses conducted via distance education, blended (hybrid) teaching practices, digital learning materials, online measurement and evaluation processes, and academic/technical support activities.

3. Fundamental Principles

  • Student-Centered Learning: Distance education activities are planned in accordance with a learning approach that supports the active participation of students.

  • Field-Oriented Digital Learning: Case studies, data analysis applications, and current economic developments specific to the field of international trade and finance are integrated into the courses.

  • Accessibility and Equal Opportunity: It is ensured that learning materials are accessible to all students.

  • Interaction and Participation: Instructor-student interaction is supported through the use of synchronous and asynchronous learning tools.

  • Effective Use of Digital Education Infrastructure: Courses are conducted through the university's learning management system (LMS).

  • Measurement and Evaluation: Methods such as online exams, assignments, projects, and case studies are utilized.

  • Academic Integrity: Compliance with academic ethical principles is encouraged in distance education processes.

  • International Perspective: International data sources and reports are actively used in the courses.

4. Implementation Process

Distance education activities are carried out under the coordination of the department head. Decisions regarding the conduction of courses via distance or blended methods are made by the department board. Course materials are presented to students through the university's learning management system.

5. Monitoring and Evaluation

Distance education activities are monitored regularly. Educational processes are evaluated in line with student satisfaction surveys, course evaluation results, and instructor feedback.

6. Continuous Improvement

In line with the monitoring and evaluation results, necessary improvements are made in distance education practices, and course contents are updated.
