Prospective Student
The International Trade and Finance Department is a highly innovative program, based on the merger of International Trade and Finance departments. It stands out with both its young, dynamic staff and its curriculum, which is updated to meet contemporary requirements. The department comprises four main fields of study: International Trade, International Marketing, International Management, and International Finance. The courses offered in each field aim to educate individuals who will become experts in their respective areas. Furthermore, students will have the opportunity to develop their talents in the field by using contemporary analysis techniques and approaches in international trade and finance, alongside following current global developments.
The International Trade and Finance Department offers a four-year undergraduate education, in addition to an optional English preparatory class. The curriculum consists of both theoretical and practical courses. Through these courses, the objective is for students to gain knowledge in foreign trade transactions, international money market operations, international economic and commercial organizations, international trade law, exchange law, logistics, and Turkey's foreign trade relations, as well as to learn about the practical aspects of international product, goods, and service flow activities. Simultaneously, the foreign language courses included in the curriculum each semester make it possible to acquire the necessary language skills required after graduation. Through seminars organized within the department, students are brought together with business professionals from relevant sectors, providing them with the opportunity to benefit from these professionals' experiences.
In addition to the Fall and Spring semesters, educational activities may continue in the Summer semester, depending on a decision by the university administration. There is no compulsory internship requirement in the department. However, students who wish to do so can undertake optional internships during the dates announced by the faculty, provided they meet the relevant conditions. This provides an opportunity to gain experience after graduation.
The International Trade and Finance Department is part of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Kütahya Dumlupınar University's Evliya Çelebi Campus. Kütahya Dumlupınar University has two main campuses in the city center of Kütahya: the Evliya Çelebi Campus and the Germiyan Campus, along with separate buildings and campus areas in 10 districts. The Evliya Çelebi Campus spans an area of over 75 hectares (750 decares). The campus entrance is through a stone gate built in the Ottoman-Seljuk architectural style, which is the architectural philosophy of the university's buildings. The gate features a welcoming form with two large towers in the center, flanked by progressively smaller towers and arched passages between them. A broad ring road has been constructed around the campus, separating the developed areas from future expansion zones, and vehicle access to the faculty blocks is restricted. Vehicle and pedestrian circulation areas are largely separated.
Under the Presidency of Health, Culture, and Sports at Kütahya Dumlupınar University, there are a total of 103 student clubs. Students can join any club that matches their interests and participate in various activities organized by these clubs. Among these student clubs is the "International Trade Community," which bears the name of our department. This community provides opportunities to organize various trips and events.
In addition to all these opportunities, students in the department are offered the chance to work part-time, according to the schedules and conditions announced by the university. This allows students to both improve their financial means and gain valuable experience for their future professional lives.
