Prospective Student

The Department of International Trade and Finance, founded on the merger of the Departments of International Trade and Finance, is a highly innovative program thanks to its young and dynamic faculty as well as its curriculum, which is regularly updated in line with contemporary requirements. The department consists of four main sub-disciplines: International Trade, International Marketing, International Management, and International Finance. The courses offered in each sub-discipline aim to educate individuals who are experts in their respective fields. Furthermore, students will have the opportunity to enhance their skills in the fields of international trade and finance by employing modern analytical techniques and approaches in line with current global developments.

In addition to an optional English preparatory year, the Department of International Trade and Finance offers a four-year undergraduate program. The curriculum includes both theoretical and practical courses. Through these courses, students gain knowledge of foreign trade transactions, international money market operations, international economic and commercial organizations, international trade law, exchange law, logistics, and Turkey’s foreign trade relations. They also receive practical training in the international circulation of products, goods, and services. Moreover, foreign language courses are offered each semester, enabling graduates to acquire the language skills required in their professional lives. Through seminars organized within the department, students meet professionals from relevant sectors, benefiting from their real-world experience.

In addition to the fall and spring semesters, educational activities may also continue during the summer semester if approved by the university administration. While internships are not mandatory, students who meet the necessary requirements may voluntarily complete internships during the dates announced by the faculty, thereby gaining professional experience before graduation.

The Department of International Trade and Finance is part of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Kütahya Dumlupınar University, located on the Evliya Çelebi Campus. Kütahya Dumlupınar University has two main campuses—Evliya Çelebi and Germiyan—in the city center of Kütahya, along with separate buildings and campus areas in 10 districts. The Evliya Çelebi Campus covers more than 7,500 decares. The entrance to the campus is marked by a stone gate reflecting the Ottoman-Seljuk architectural style, which embodies the university’s architectural philosophy. The gate features two large central towers flanked by smaller ones, with arched entrances between them, symbolically welcoming visitors. Within the campus, a large ring road separates developed areas from expansion zones and prevents vehicles from entering faculty buildings. Vehicle and pedestrian traffic areas are largely separated.

Under the Health, Culture, and Sports Directorate, the university hosts 103 student clubs, allowing students to join organizations that match their interests and take part in various activities. Among these is the International Trade Club, named after our department, which organizes various trips and events.

In addition to all these opportunities, students of the department are also offered part-time work opportunities under the conditions and periods announced by the university. This enables them to improve their financial situation while also gaining valuable work experience for their future professional careers.
